New Members

Introduction

We're always delighted to welcome new members to the club and we'll do all we can to ensure that all your questions and needs are met on your first visit. If you'd like to get in touch with the club prior to visiting, please feel free to contact any of the committee members whose details are provided on our Contacts Page and who will be more than willing to help out.

However, you should feel more than free to visit the club without prior contact if you wish. There are club sessions for members of all playing standards so everyone is welcome to visit Westfields without worry. If you're an adult we recommend first coming along to one of the mixed gender social sessions (Saturday from 2pm or Monday from 6pm) where members will be able show you around and answer your questions. Of course, if you'd prefer to come to a single sex session (Men's from 10am on Sunday) you'd be more than welcome.

If you're interested in junior membership we recommend coming to the session from 10am on Saturday morning. Here you'll be able to meet the other players, our club coach, and the other members and volunteers who oversee our junior sessions. If Saturday morning is an inappropriate time, further sessions are run from 4-5.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Membership packages

Membership prices at Westfields are among the lowest in the county and include full court access, complete use of the clubhouse facilities, and the provision of balls. The only things not included with the annual payment are the use of floodlights and coaching which, in order to recognise the differing needs of our members, are paid for separately.

We make every attempt to provide enough membership options that there is something suitable for everyone.

These options include:

  • Adult membership: £160. Full membership as detailed above.
  • Senior citizen membership: £100. Full adult membership for those aged 65+.
  • Student/Intermediate membership: £65. Intermediate members aged 16-18 years are still able to attend some junior sessions, but also qualify for the entitlements of full adult membership. This reduction in price also applies to students in full-time education.
  • Job Seekers / Income support: £60.
  • Gateway Membership: £45. This membership allows unlimited play with all other members outside of club sessions and matches, as well as giving full access to club coaching sessions. Perfect for rusty rackets who don't feel ready for club sessions, not to mention parents who want to play with their children.
  • Mini Red Membership 10 Juniors playing within the mini-red age group (8 and under)
  • Junior membership: £25.
  • Adult Visitor fees are £2.50

All our membership packages run for 12 months from April. You are of course welcome to join at any other time of the year and if you do so you will be offered a pro rata membership until the following April (for example, a full adult membership in December would cost around £50).

If you would like any more information on membership packages and which may be suitable for you, please feel free to contact us. Membership forms are available in the clubhouse. Alternatively, you can download one for adults here and one for juniors here.

Quotes from our membership

Caroline M reviewed Westfields Tennis Club...

Westfield's strength is in it's club sessions, where a rotation system is used to mix everyone around, so you should hopefully get to play tennis with everyone there. Our small size means that you get to know most members quite quickly, so there is a very friendly atmosphere and new members are made most welcome. Our Junior sessions are becoming very popular, whether taking part in coaching sessions or just playing tennis.

Will Knott reviewed Westfields Tennis Club...

Westfields is a great tennis Club. A real gem so close to the centre of Leicester. The 4 courts are all in really good condition and as there are two savanna and two hard it means you have a choice of surfaces to play on. Very useful when practicing for the away League tennis games! Would thoroughly recommend coming down and having a hit!

It's a great club, and I would recommend.

The setting of the club in an amphitheatre of tall trees makes it a lovely place to visit.

A good club with a good open door policy and a nice choice of coaching courses.

The club is now very motivated and pro-active.
